Checking Aerial Photos Page


The Checking Aerial Photos page is used to show the drawings and to go to the Map Center air photos identified as possible landing sites. The drawings are shown in their own windows which can be kept open until you are able to match the drawing with the right air photo.

First you click on one of the drawing icons.

This brings the drawing up in it's own window. See Figure 1.

Clicking back on the Checking Aerial Photos page makes it the current page and puts the drawing window as a button on your task bar. See Figure 2.

You can open the drawing window by clicking on the button.

Next you scroll down to the possible sites and click on one.

Click Below For Air Photo of Possible Pickup Site

This brings up the Map Center air photo. See Figure 3.

When the air photo does NOT match the drawing


  • Use the Back button of your browser to return to the Checking Aerial Photos page
  • Pick another site
  • Click on the button for the drawing if you need a reminder


When the air photo DOES match the drawing


  • Click the Show the Reference Map tool
  • This displays the Reference Map - See Figure 4
  • Pick the Identify Features tool
  • Find the landmark for the pickup spot
  • Click on it
  • Click on the web address at the bottom of the new page - See Figure 5
  • This brings up a picture of the robot you have located
  • Close the window with the drawing
  • Click on the icon to return to the Checking Aerial Photos page
  • Pick another drawing
  • Pick another site
